I am racing Spec Slash right now and want something faster! I'm really thinking about getting into short course trucks. Maybe one day I'll get into 1/8 e buggy or truggy.

So now I'm working on a build list......

Airtronics MT12S

Servo Savox 1258 TG

Wheels and tires, I want to go Pro Line as there USA made

Body Proline again

Motor and ESC I have no idea. I was thinking Tekin or Castle

Going to be racing in north Texas.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks Bill!! I'm on the fence on buying a new one or finding a used one. I'm not in a hurry, I'll keep racing the Slash.

I'm sure I'll keep a couple of the Traxxas for the bashing days. Spec Slash is pretty fun. I know the SCT is going to be a blast. There were a handful in the SCT class yesterday, that track brings a TON of 1/8 scale. Last time I raced before the Slash was Losi trucks 20+ years ago.

well....

I found a very lightly used one. It should be on the way soon

Tekin RX8G2 ESC
Tekin ProHD 4300kv
Savox 1258 servo

Still deciding on if I want to go to the Futaba 4PM or just stick to the 3PV.

Its coming with some extras and some aluminum goodies on it....

Some wheels and tires also. I need to get some more wheels I think as I will be racing on clay and carpet.

If you will be racing, then I would encourage you to make sure the radio select offers "steering speed" adjustment, this will help settle your car to make it a lot easier to tune for track conditions as they change, more info here:

I personally recommend the HITEC Lynx 4S which is very easy to operate and offers every imaginable feature you would need for racing without any compromise.

Good Luck!

Thanks again Bill!

I will check that out. I do plan on racing it. I see your in Austin, where do yall race? I saw there was a track in Waco, actually I can make it to Waco faster than I can Garland to the indoor track.

This year I upgraded to 4pm from 3pv and I was on the fence due to I don’t race but it was a great move. I love it and way easier to set up and program. And I just handed the 3 pm to my son.

Thornhill is only a little further than the Garland track for us. We will have to make it down there at some point. Tracks look AWESOME.

I am hunting down a Hitec Lynx4S......hopefully I will be up and going on the SCT410 next week or so.

If you are in N. Texas, you need to be racing @ Shaw's in Ardmore, OK. If you do that, LMK, 'cause I'm hoping to start running there, too... (I'm in S. Oklahoma)

Once we get going more we might make the trip to Ardmore, I used to be up there a couple times a year for horse shows.

My SCT410 arrived, so I got a Airtronics MT12S ordered up.

Just need to paint a body and get ESC connectors now. Seems like you can not find genuine Deans connectors anywhere in stock. There is a XT90 connector on the ESC now. I am not heavily invested in Deans connectors so I may swap to XT60 or 90 as they are readily avaliable about everywhere.

XT90 works great for me. I solder them myself if needed.

I would not consider anything else than xt90, ec5 or xt150.

Definitely consider the JConcepts F250 body. I’ve gone through 3 Proline bodies and even with reinforced fiberglass tape and shoe goo they aren’t as tough as the JConcept.

I'll get some XT90's on the way.

As for the body, I have one now. I'll think about the J concepts body. I hate buying chinese produced products. But if the Proline one is that much worse then it won't do me any good.
