Interesting first test day on the grass. It's 101 outside, so it was a very short session.

First impression is that the DB48 is very well balanced. As much as I gripe about the chassis layout, I think I can see Tekno's thought process. It was only a quick battery pack, so I can't say that I have much of a feel in just that short session, but it's interesting. I like the feel of a longer chassis; I'm running the ET48 chassis. Squats down nicely under full power and feel very stable at top speed. You can also dig into corners pretty deep before tires start lifting ( not running the sway bar ).

Compared to my Nomad DB-8, the Tekno feels a little more quick and nimble, where as the Nomad feel more powerful and planted. Of course I'm comparing apples to oranges in terms of power plants and battery, but that Tekin Pro 4 HD 3500kv can really throw down on 3s. That said, I'm also comparing a $1000 kit to a $500 RTR. I plan on installing a Tekin 1900 kv on the Nomad soon.

Steering felt a little funky, and I have to get a bit more travel when making a right; feels like it won't cut a sharp right turn. Will look the servo setup over later.

Suspension is very smooth.

Steve B, on a side note, I believe you are the one with 3 Nomads. If you are not aware, Associated has refurbished Nomad RTR versions for $299. Might be worth it for backup parts.

Looks like in the long run it was worth the headache ????

Yeah,

I purchased two as backups, and might grab a third ( 4th Nomad ) for a project. Not sure just yet.

Still working on the setup. I'm happy with the Leadfinger body, so I will get another one and some paint. Put the new 410.3 rear a arms back on and installed the rear sway bar.

Just working with the suspension setup for grass, but so far it's doing well.
