Not sure if anyone else is having this little concern or not, but I've noticed the front end's nuts coming loose after every six, or so runs. That area of the buggy (in my case) sees the most abuse; I'm sure of that. After last night's run, and giving the buggy a once over, I am now beginning to put some thread lock on the front end "lock" nuts (circled in blue).

Do those lock nuts not have a rubber ring inside them to stop them from backing out??

I'll take a look when my kit arrives and as long as both screw and nut are metal I'd probably go with thread lock too.....

Man I have yet to run mine on the track. I am waiting on a few things to arrive still.
The lock nuts appear to be the same as the previous generations, but maybe they switched sources and the newer ones are not as nice?

That would be a shame if I have to replace all of my lock nuts, but I was also looking for an excuse to install some extra color. That being said I will keep an extra close eye on these when I hit the track.

On the plus side they are easy enough to swap out if need be!

Yes, they have a nylon insert inside the nuts to help keep them from loosening.

I almost always replace all the locknuts with aluminum locknuts to cut a bit if weight and on the plus add some color.
My RC8FT had like 30 locknuts in it when i replaced them all with alloy units the weight of all those steel locknuts was unbelievable lol.

In my case, I am not concerned about weight. Actually, the one big reason why I love 1/8 scale buggies is because of the heft/weight of them. I got the 2.0 to rip and tear things up at backyard track. I even add 4 oz. to my 1/10 scale short course, and stadium trucks. Everything just seems to track better over/through the rough stuff with added weight.

Anyways, I haven't had an issue with nuts loosening since I began to use thread lock on the nuts circled in my earlier post.

Yeah these Teknos dont seem to mind a lil heft. They just drive good. I just like the looks of the gold alloy locknuts. On yhe other hand the only locknut Iv ever had back out was on an SC10 4X4 rear slipper shaft. Replaced it and all was good.
